Pairing Apple Pencil (USB-C) to an Apple iPad

How to Pair an Apple Pencil (USB-C) to an iPad with Bluetooth 

1. Slide open the end of the Apple Pencil and connect it to the USB-C charge cable that came with your iPad.

2. On your iPad, go to Settings > Bluetooth®  

3. Connect the other end of the USB-C charge cable to the USB-C connector on iPad.

4. The Apple Pencil will connect automatically as soon as you connect the devices properly. Apple Pencil will be in My Devices and show as, “Connected”

After you pair the Apple Pencil, you can disconnect it from the USB-C charge cable.

Apple Pencil stays paired until you restart your iPad, turn off Bluetooth®, or pair with another iPad. Just pair the Apple Pencil again when you are ready to use it.  

Tips for if the Apple Pencil (USB-C) is not pairing, try these:

• Disable and Enable Bluetooth®
• Charge Apple Pencil (USB-C) and try pairing again
